Gardener Peter Glazebrook has won top prize in all six classes of the giant vegetable contest at the Harrogate show and has broken the world record for the heaviest onion. The 68-year-old's latest giant onion has weighed in at 18lb 1oz
Largest Beetroot
The longest beetroot measures 7.956 m (26 ft 1.22 in) and was grown by Joe Atherton (UK), as verified at the UK National Giant Vegetables Championship, in Malvern, UK, on 23 September 2016. Joe is a veteran of giant vegetables, also holding records for the Longest carrot and Longest radish.
Largest Cabbage
PALMER, Alaska, USA -- During the Alaska State Fair a cabbage brought in by Steve Hubacek of Wasilla tipped the scales at 125.9 pounds, its head measured about 21 inches across, and its leaves spanned about 5 feet-setting the new world record for the Largest cabbage.
Heaviest Radish
The world's heaviest radish was grown by Manabu Oono (Japan) and weighed 31.1 kg (68 lb 9 oz) on 9 February 2003 at the Sakurajima Radish Contest, Kagoshima, Japan. It had a circumference of 119 cm (46.8 in).
